Never assume that a task is simple, even if it only involves simple elements. Case in point, swapping out solenoids on the Asian Borg-Warner automatic gearbox... a zen nightmare. Remove two bolts, disconnect a wire... "refitting reverse of removal." Smartass manual. This looks like one of those things that was attached before the gearbox got mounted. So, I spent the late afternoon in the wind and damp leaves, hurling curses to Valhalla. For want of one tool, and I'd be done. Perhaps. No More Automatics, dammit. An earlier start would've helped, but we took a drive back to the Siamese rescue instead with application for adoption. Gawd, the place is crawling with sassy two-tones.
