do the Freddie

why god, why? why must it be Freddie and the Dreamers' "You Were Made For Me" that continues the endless loop in my brain?
"you were made for me,
everybody tells me so.
you were made for me,
don't pretend that you don't know."
i don't want to delve into the psychological significance of the lyrics, nor why dorky be-suited sixties Britons doing gawky jumping-jacks on stage have to impress themselves on the periphery, this morning.
could be worse.
could be "The Ho' Is Lazy" (hilarious link, pulsetone).
it was one of those disjointed days in the studio, yesterday... just that slight bit of unconnectedness that sometimes results in missed segues, forgetting to load CD trays, or brain fade when the "on air" light goes on. the elements had the cure, though... like one phone call after another (one collect-call request from the jail), on-the-fly mixes, and a visit from the ex-pat Jamaican for the last forty minutes. interesting, cultured person, connected with the music and personalities... and possessing the ability to talk, non-stop, for hours, even while you attempt to be coherent on air. if that doesn't make you prioritize, nothing will.
by the time i walked to the car, i was exhausted.
so, i went to Biggle's house afterwards, for London Porters, shepherds' pie, Wire-SexPistols-SecretAffair-Clash, and gossiping about today's footie matches. as if i hadn't already worn out the connection between my brain and vocal chords, already.
i did manage to forget my shades, in the fracas.
compensation, perhaps... as Yoko returns sometime today, guaranteed to expend minimal conversation.
meh-meh-meh.
well, it's beautiful outside. i can feel the fuschia of the redbud trees, behind me in the window, looking over my shoulder. guess i'll go co-mingle.
springtime.
it was made for me.
