Soon Come

Three broadcasts in little over a week... that's not a personal record, but it's approaching one. Neo-psychedelia, perhaps not the proverbial "cup of chowder" for the usual folksie crowd, if pledges attest. Quite a few listeners, so it seems... mostly other DJs. Good thing they weren't expecting me to deliver the big bucks, today.

No, the best part was leaving the studio. I left home to the crystaline pecking of little balls of sleet bouncing off of the windscreen, I packed up the LPs in soul-satisfying warmth. 60s. Roll-the-windows-down weather... toodling with the accelertor under bridges to hear the Miata clear its throat. Anticipating the day, not soon off, that the hardtop will be relegated to the shed. Then, the real challenge of living with a cloth top... like, not wearing it out with constant folding and unfolding. Could happen. I can feel it, already.

This car needs a name... it's a she, incidentally. An oriental she. A good dancer on twisty roads, a bit saucy, not entirely agreeable (still need to get the idle straightened out, radio works when it wants to). Always ready to go. Hmmm... need to watch the panel closer on 1ron Chef. Don't think "Takata-san" is it.

Wishing for Spring... and watching R1ta Hayworth in G1lda, this evening, hasn't heled with the lust.

Gawd, I'm spoiled. Two Mondays in a row, off. Vacation time looking pitiful. Another snow threatened for tomorrow night.

It'd be warmer if we started heading south. Maybe not as far as Argentina.

Soon Come.
